Kliningan is derived from an instrument, klining. It shaves like saron, consists of 4-14 pieces of plats. This instrument is a part of gamelan instrument group. In Javanese orchestra it is called gender. Kliningan, performs gending, a tradisional Sundanese orchestra on its independent concert.
